Armed Struggle is a Monumental Folly

The accompanying piece is a compelling story of the Maoists. In the last 50 years they have come a long way, and it's time they come forward for a dialogue with the govt so that all of us are spared another bloodbath.
I just hope there are sane elements in the govt who equally realize that the Maoists cannot be militarily defeated. There's a huge problem of rural and urban poverty in our country and this can only be solved by a dialogue on both sides.
If both the sides engage in an essentially UNWINNABLE war, they'll mutually ensure that only the WAR LOBBY is smiling all the way to the bank, thus raising a suspicion that there are elements on both the sides doing the bidding of the militarists.
In a war only the poor die and never the leaders. There's a theory that the same group of powerful financiers was financing both Lenin and the Americans to begin with, and then the Allies and the Nazis during the horrific WW2. So the common citizenry at large should always take the spirit of jingoism on both sides with tons and tonnes of salt.
